What is it like to paddle a hard SUP board?

A hard SUP board lies deep in the water. This makes it stable. It glides easily and reacts quickly to paddle strokes due to its stiffness.

Kona hard SUP boards are designed with a lowered standing surface so you get close
the water surface when you paddle. The low standing surface contributes to the stability of the paddle board and you can advantageously choose a narrower SUP board which contributes to an efficient and more ergonomic paddle stroke. With a narrower paddle board it is also easier to maintain the desired course.

The low center of gravity makes it easier to maneuver the paddle board and handle it in different water conditions, something that is difficult to achieve with an inflatable SUP board.

What is it like to paddle an inflatable SUP board?

On an inflatable SUP paddle board you stand above the water surface. Because of
Due to its thickness and buoyancy, an inflatable SUP board is more affected by wind.

Kona's inflatable
SUP paddle boards are designed to lie flat in the water with a
long waterline that makes the paddleboard glide further on each stroke
paddle stroke.

Why are there paddle boards in different sizes?

Kona's paddle boards are available
in different sizes partly to meet the needs of different
areas of use, partly because the size together with the board's
construction determines the load-bearing capacity and stability of the paddle board, i.e.
how much weight the paddle board can hold.

The size of the paddleboard determines the characteristics of the board

The stability rating of a SUP is an assessment of how stable a paddleboard is to stand on in terms of balance, how easily the board rocks sideways and how much it can tilt before it capsizes, as well as how nimble the board is in terms of gliding.
