#5 Varför känns vissa SUP-brädor stabilare än andra?

#5 Why do some SUP boards feel more stable than others?

Why is the importance of stability so important when I'm going to soup?

What is meant by stability in SUP and what is its importance? In this episode, Niklas and Joachim discuss the concept of “stability for performance”. A completely new way of looking at design regarding SUP boards for training and competition which, among other things, meant that it was now possible for everyone to use their whole body for a more efficient and energy-saving propulsion of the SUP board.
How SUP boards for training and competition became more user-friendly and functional for a wider public.

Stability is key.

We at Kona realized early on that how stable a SUP board felt was crucial to how fast it could be paddled . Because we want the board to be to be paddled in the most efficient way possible so that we can Don't build stability solely on the width of the board , which is otherwise the key to stability. A board that is too wide in relation to our body length/width will be very difficult to paddle. and in the worst case can lead to injuries as we constantly paddle at the "wrong angle"

A large part of our R& D work is about therefore continue to design SUP boards that are narrow enough so that everyone can paddle them with the most ergonomic and therefore efficient paddle stroke possible , without worrying about balance .

How we do it, well that remains a secret ;)
